All The Way Live showcases two separate Newworldson performances in different settings; the first, their 2013 main stage performance at Big Church Day Out in the UK. The second recording, hence the double album, was captured the following year at one of the festival's after-hours sessions.
"Had we even known the audio for these performances was being recorded, I'm certain we would have played with far less abandon, favoring perfection for posterity's sake," Parisien explains in his liner notes. "Instead, what we have is a remarkably detailed snapshot of Newworldson live, absent of studio tricks, and most importantly, filled with the Spirit."

If you were to buy one CD in the month of February, it should be this one. Newworldson is the freshest act in Christian music at the moment. Fusing good old-fashioned rock n' roll with soul and blues, they give a whole new meaning to the word eclectic...This (even this early in the year) is an album that is sure to be close to the top of my best of 2010 list. (read the full review here: http://www.thechristianmanifesto.com)
Newworldson easily avoids the sophomore slump with their new album. It really surrprised me and was one of the most unique albums I've ever heard. Check out Newworldson for some great, unique music! (read the full review here: http://christianrockrocks.blogspot.com)
The punchy rhythms strike from every direction like a heavyweight prizefighter knocking crowds onto the dance floor... a rootsy blend of old school musicianship rips the heart out of each instrument and holds it up to prove to the world that Newworldson shares a united pulse."This album rocks" is the biggest understatement of the year. Newworldson is a musical grandslam in the bottom of the ninth. (read the full review here: http://www.cbn.com/cbnmusic/reviews/index.aspx)
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS CD! Newworldson kills it on this new album... I see this one selling out quick. This is an amazing album not just for those who love jazz or soul, but for any believer who loves music. (read the full review here: http://cornerstonefaith.com/index.php)
[Newworldson returns] with what is easily one of the most anticipated musical releases of the year for serious fans of Christian music...What makes Newworldson stand out from the pack so much is that there aren't many artists doing what they do - and none doing it as convincingly well as them...Overall, you'll be hard pressed to find an album as eclectic and interesting as Newworldson's self-titled sophomore outing. There's a whole lot to love here - and if you're willing to take a leap of faith on a band - Newworldson should be your first choice! RADIO GHOST TOWN
This is Radio Ghost Town
Salvation plan in stereo sound
This a rebel transmission
Can anybody hear me now?
Clever zombies
Hiding out in the open for all eyes to see
The resistance
Took a hit when our leader was nailed to a tree
But they couldn't kill Him
So they're trying to tell us we're already free
Standing outside the gates
Waiting in the shadows now
No one's got time to waste
But we don't know what to do
And we don't know how to get in to that city of gold
There's got to be some way around
Trying to get out of the cold
Underground
This is Radio Ghost Town
Salvation plan in stereo sound
This a rebel transmission
Can anybody hear me now?
Wake up
Do you know what's in your cup?
Do you know just what they're feeding you?
Mic check
I don't mean no disrespect
But is my transmission getting through?
I'm talking to you
Standing outside the gates
Waiting in the shadows now
No one's got time to waste
But we don't know what to do
And we don't know how to get in to that city of gold
There's got to be some way around
Trying to get out of the cold
Underground
This is Radio Ghost Town...
HOMELESS CHILD
Time is never on your side
When you're living day to day and night
The sun way up in the sky
Isn't always there to bring you light
Well it's nothing personal
The earth just spins around
But it's lonely and it's cold here on the ground
I was a homeless child before You took me in
Your comforts are beyond imagination
I was a runaway but now I'm here to stay
Nothing can keep me from Your sweet salvation
Love is always hard to find
When you're counting on the stars to align
But we pass each other all the time
Walking down that crowded road so wide
No one's going anywhere
We only push and shove
And then we're right back to the start looking for love
(Where's the love?)
I was a homeless child...
And it's all for free
All you give to me
What a blessing just to be in Your family
I was a homeless child...
LEARNING TO BE THE LIGHT
When the stars came crashing down
In tiny pieces to the ground
I was all alone down here
Trapped beneath the atmosphere
Then I thought somebody called my name
I spun around and caught a flame
Gave in to a God I didn't know
And now everything is falling into place
A brand new life is calling and I owe it all to grace
It's so much brighter living in Your world
Savior what You did for me
You gave me something I want everyone to see
When we stumble and it all goes wrong
Only You can make it right
So I say oh oh oh oh oh
I'm learning to be the light
Whoa-oa
Whoa-oa-oa
I'm learning to be the light
Whoa-oa
Whoa-oa-oa
When a heart is cold as ice
You can't melt it with advice
No one wants to listen to
A list of things they shouldn't do
So I build a city on a hill
And I light a candle on the sill
Knowing You'll be always knocking at the door
Oh God I just want to love on everyone
All I have is Yours to give so let the people come
It's so much brighter living in Your world
Savior what You did for me
You gave me something I want everyone to see
When we stumble and it all goes wrong
Only You can make it right
So I say oh oh oh oh oh
I'm learning to be the light
Whoa-oa
Whoa-oa-oa
I'm learning to be the light
Whoa-oa
Whoa-oa-oa
I'm learning to be the light that makes the shadows hide
The light that breaks the curse of pride
The light that takes the weary in its arms
When it all came crashing down
There was only darkness all around
But in the distance I could see a flame
It's so much brighter living in Your world
Savior what You did for me
You gave me something I want everyone
I mean everyone to see
When we stumble and it all goes wrong
Only You can make it right
So I say oh oh oh oh oh
I'm learning to be the light
Whoa-oa
Whoa-oa-oa
I'm learning to be the light
Whoa-oa
Whoa-oa-oa
I'm learning to be the light
Whoa-oa
Whoa-oa-oa
I'm learning to be the light
Whoa-oa
Whoa-oa-oa
I'm learning to be the light
5, 6, 7, 8
I live on 5678 Get Down Street
I've got the music to move your feet
People come knocking from miles around
Just to get a sample of the beat
The sign on the lawn says: God Is Love
And the Spirit lives in my song
So if you came to move and you've got nothing to prove
Well I hope you'll help me sing along
Na na na na na na na na na na
Are you ready, are you ready to clap your hands
With all the people that you meet?
Give it up, give it up for the King of kings
It's a party on Get Down Street
The block is rocking, it's the talk of the town
Now everybody wants to go
5, 10, 20, now there's 99
And my Redeemer is the star of the show
Na na na na na na na na na na
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Di di di di di di di di di di
Na na na na na na na na na na
OLD TIME RELIGION
How can you call it old time religion
When it's right here and right now?
Ain't nothing old about God's Holy Spirit
He's the same today as yesterday
And evermore shall He be
He's gonna reign eternally
Go ask the children, young men and women
Ask them if my Jesus is alive
They're gonna tell you all about amazing grace
They're gonna let you know my King is in this place
How can you call it old time religion
When it's right here and right now?
I've got a watch on, I know what time it is
And I'm not the only one
Come on, try to say you haven't seen the signs
Come now, try to tell us that it's in our minds
Some folks will hear it, some eyes will see
Good thing it ain't all up to me
How can you call it old time religion
When it's right here and right now?
Ain't nothing old about God's Holy Spirit
He's the same today as yesterday
And evermore shall He be
He's gonna reign eternally
Go ask the children, young men and women
Ask them if my Jesus is alive
They're gonna tell you all about amazing grace
They're gonna let you know my King is in this place
How can you call it old time religion
When it's right here and right now?
TODAY
Light of the world
Hope for all man
You never let me down
I can't believe You call me Your friend
It's turned my whole life around
But still it's hard to let go of the wheel
No one ever showed how
Maybe this time You can take the lead
And I won't try to pull You by the sleeve
Because every time I think that I know better I lose my way
So God, what You wanna do today?
You are the King of Heaven and earth
All of creation bows
I give You my heart for all that it's worth
I'm at Your service now
But I always want to guess just what You need
Trying to honor my vow
Maybe this time You can take the lead
And I won't try to pull You by the sleeve
Because every time I think that I know better I lose my way
So God, what You wanna do today?
Maybe we will spend the hours just being still
And knowing You are God
You are God
Every time I think that I know better I lose my way
Don't let me lose my way
SWEET GRACE
Mercy and Faith and their little sister Grace
Grew up in a home under the stars
There was kindness, there was love
In the warmth of Father's place
But that wasn't enough for little Grace
She heard about the world but she'd never seen its face
Just bedtime stories Faith and Mercy told
In the morning she was gone
She had left without a trace
No time to say goodbye to little Grace
Where will you go?
Where will you go?
Walking down that road on your own
Where will you go?
Where will you go?
Sweet Grace, sweet Grace, sweet Grace
Sweet Grace, sweet Grace, sweet Grace
The world was big and wide and it ran from wrong to right
Trouble wasn't ever far away
But every heart and soul she took in her embrace
That's why people sing 'bout little Grace
Where will you go...
Faith was always sure that she'd come home
Mercy only asked that she be left alone
Father thought about her everyday
But he knew the world needed amazing Grace
Where will you go...
SELAH
Right about seven Mama got the call
Sonny boy was calling home from Montreal
Now Mama always said he was a libertine
But he bought a ring and put it on his Josephine
And now Mama say Selah, Selah
Everybody lift their voice and raise the praise
Selah, Selah
God, He always working in mysterious ways
Once upon a time there was a mean old man
Used to fall asleep beside a garbage can
Then somebody said he met the Holy dove
Now you never met someone so filled with love
And Mama say Selah, Selah
Everybody lift their voice and raise the praise
Selah, Selah
God, He always working in mysterious ways
Little girl they thought would never walk again
She had to spend the week in bed when she turned ten
Then one summer day she said: I feel all right
Now they're lining up to see that lady dance tonight
And Mama say Selah, Selah
Everybody lift their voice and raise the praise
Selah, Selah
God, He always working in mysterious ways
SON OF MAN
Oh how the mighty have fallen
Oh how the mighty they fall
I heard humility calling
But I didn't answer the call
Savior I fell down and I rolled in the dirt
Savior I fell down and I buried the hurt
Savior I fell down and I cried out
My face in the sand
Son of man, can You give me Your hand?
Son of man, can You give me Your hand?
Son of man, can You give me Your hand?
Son of man, can You give me Your hand?
Son of man, can You give me Your hand?
I built the tower of Babel
I led so many astray
I rolled my dice on the table
But I threw my fortune away
Savior I fell down...
I thought I knew what I was doing
But all of my plans led to ruin
I got as far as I could on my own
Don't leave me alone
Savior I fell down...
SOUTHERN CROSS
There's a phantom in my house
And it haunts my better half now
It's quiet as a mouse
But that's what drives her mad
I'm on the flipside of the world
And I believe there is a reason
So look down on my girl
Just while I'm over here
'Cuz one thing gives me comfort when I'm gone
That God You are the same from Wellington to Maine
Southern cross in the sky
Burn a picture in my eye
So I'll always remember when I'm home
Southern cross
Every time I cross that old date line
I'll play this little song for Southern crosses
There's a longing in my heart
To be a better person
But when I play the part
No one believes a word
So it's amazing every time
I'm received with open arms
No matter what the crime
Somebody throws a net
And I swear I won't forget...
Southern cross in the sky
Burn a picture in my eye
So I'll always remember when I'm home
Southern cross
Every time I cross that old date line
I'll play this little song for Southern crosses
For all my Southern friends under the cross
SHAKE HOLY SPIRIT
You make me shake Holy Spirit
You make me shake
You make me shake Holy Spirit
You make me shake
You make me shake Holy Spirit
You make me shake Holy Spirit
You make me dance
You make me move
You make me shake
NEWWORLDSON - LYRICS
YOU SET THE RHYTHM
I was unlucky in love
I didn't know what a heart was
I felt it beating in my chest
But my best definition was a blood pump
So why did it hurt when I was alone?
Why does it feel like You've made it Your own?
You are the master key and my heart's unlocked
I think it beats just for You
That's all it knows how to do
I've made a brand new start
You set the rhythm of my heart
You set the rhythm now
I was a dangerous man
I was a ruthless pretender
I carried love like a sword
But You're the one who made me surrender
And now my heart's in a better place
My heart's in a better place
I think it beats just for You
That's all it knows how to do
I've made a brand new start
You set the rhythm of my heart
You set the rhythm now
LISTEN TO THE LORD
Long before that I was bonafide
Demons walkin' 'round the streets outside
Come-a-knockin' always at my door
Now I know what they were comin' for
Scratch and claw, scream and yell
Call my name and ring my bell
But the Holy Ghost sent me a sword
All because that day...
I listened to the Lord
Listened to the Lord
I listened to the Lord
Listened to the Lord
What ain't Truth, you know, is counterfeit
Words ain't nothin' but the half of it
They got idols up at City Hall
They want Righteousness to take the fall
But the writing's up there on the wall
My Messiah's gonna judge us all
So I'm signin' up to join the war
And when my General calls...
I'll listen to the Lord
Gonna listen to the Lord
Listen to the Lord
Listen to the Lord
David dusty in a desert land
Hidin' away from a tyrant's hand
He sang the blues and strummed that chord
And God said: play on Dave
He listened to the Lord
Listened to the Lord
He listened to the Lord
Listened to the Lord
I'm gonna listen to the Lord
Listen to the Lord
I'm gonna listen to the Lord
Listen to the Lord
IN YOUR ARMS
In Your arms I feel just like I wanted to
In Your arms I have everything I need in you
You're the only one I ever wanted to come home to
You're the reason why I'll never fade away
Safe here in Your arms
In Your arms I forget about the state I'm in
In Your arms I'm letting go of everything
You're the only one I ever wanted to come home to
You're the reason why I'll never fade away
Safe here in Your arms
I'm afraid, I'm afraid that I won't know what to say
I'm afraid, I'm afraid 'cuz I've never felt this way
You're the only one I ever wanted to come home to
You're the reason why I'll never fade away
Forever in Your arms
THERE IS A WAY
You say Love is just a word
Just four letters in a row
Just a thing that people say
Or they never tell you so
And you've used every excuse
To let nobody in
Now this cloud you bring around
Has become your only friend
Everybody's saying that it's gonna go away
But it don't go
And everybody's telling you one day it's gonna change
But you don't know if it's really gonna end
But there is a way, there is a spark
There is a hope that you can hold onto
There is a lifeline come to the rescue
Just like a hand that's waiting for you
If you believe in this I promise that you won't be alone
There is a way:
The Truth and The Life and The Way
What if love became a man?
If the Word had flesh and bone
Would you recognize His face
If He came to bring you home?
You think you're all alone, gotta do it on your own
Riding solo
Is there someone you can call when you stumble and fall?
'Cause you don't know if you'll be getting up again
But there is a way, there is a spark
There is a hope that you can hold onto
There is a lifeline come to the rescue
Just like a hand that's waiting for you
If you believe in this I promise that you won't be alone
There is a way:
The Truth and The Life and The Way
Don't you know your life's worth saving?
Don't you think that love's amazing?
Don't you want to lay your troubles down?
Lay them down
If I thought love was just a word
I might feel the same way too
But it's so much more than that
And it's waiting here for you
There is a way, there is a spark
There is a hope that you can hold onto
There is a lifeline come to the rescue
Just like a hand that's waiting for you
If you believe in this I promise that you won't be alone
There is a way, there is a way,
There is a way
The Truth and The Life and The Way
The Truth and The Life and The Way
The Truth and The Life and The Way
The Truth and The Life and The Way
The Truth and The Life and The Way
The Truth and The Life and The Way
The Truth and The Life and The Way
The Truth and The Life and The Way
DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE
Tell me everybody - you believe in Love?
Do you believe in Love?
Yes, I wanna know - do you believe in Love?
Tell me you believe in Love
Don't let 'em change your mind
Tell you that Love is gone
Love ain't gone, it might feel that way
But it's been here all along
Tell me everybody - you believe in Love?
Do you believe in Love?
Yes, I wanna know - do you believe in Love?
Tell me you believe in Love
Don't let 'em change your mind
Tell you Love has had its day
Love's come back, it's alive and well
No matter what the people say
Tell me everybody - you believe in Love?
Do you believe in Love?
Yes, I wanna know - do you believe in Love?
Tell me you believe in Love
Don't let 'em change your mind
Tell you that Love's a breeze
Love ain't breezy, it's a howlin' wind
Knock a man to his knees
Everybody, everybody do you believe?
[Yes I believe in Love!]
Everybody, everybody do you believe?
[Yes I believe in Love!]
THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I LIKE IT
Lady Luck ain't always in the mood
Four leaf clovers are hard to find
Fortune tellers can be so shrewd
Quit pokin' 'round inside my mind
I don't believe much in luck
God's the only one that I trust
And that's exactly how I like it
That's exactly how I live
That's exactly how I like it
That's exactly
That's exactly
Godless people wasting money
Buying tea leaves from a jar
Askin' groundhogs if it's sunny
Waitin' 'round for shootin' stars
I don't believe much in luck
God's the only one that I trust
And that's exactly how I like it
That's exactly how I live
That's exactly how I like it
That's exactly
That's exactly
ROCKY ROAD
There's a road, it's a rocky road
Lined with sticks and stones
It's a road where the thistle grows
And the freeway never goes
But even though this road is long
Everybody's welcome on this rocky road
We're all doing the best we can
We hurt from head to toe
And we fall short of Heaven's plan
We stumble as we go
But even though we've all done wrong
Everybody's welcome on this rocky road
We're casting stones even though we're all sinners
Pointing fingers and calling out names
But on the rocky road there ain't no one among us without blame
How can I, with this log in my eye,
Count your spots and scars?
Why should I even try to put you behind bars?
I need your love to carry on
We've got to help each other along this rocky road
We're casting stones even though we're all sinners
Pointing fingers and calling out names
But on the rocky road there ain't no one among us without blame
COMMANDER
There are times in our lives
When doing wrong don't always feel so right
Wishful thinking, thinking something
Can be hidden from the Light
Whatever You want
Show me how to do
Whatever You need from me
Whatever You want
Just stretch out Your hand
Lord let Your will be my command
Thank You Savior for salvation
I'm a sinner, I'm a broken man
Give my heart a renovation
God I know You understand
Whatever You want
Show me how to do
Whatever You need from me
Whatever You want
Just stretch out Your hand
Lord let Your will be my command
TOTAL ECLIPSE
Fallen angel eclipsed the Son
Crucified the chosen One
Dragged Your name through the mud
Made the nations forget the Blood
Devil's got a spell on the world today
But don't nobody tell me that's just the way it is
I don't believe in this total eclipse of the Son
I don't receive this total eclipse of the Son
Fallen angel eclipsed the Light
On his way down from Heaven's heights
He built a kingdom of steel and gold
Of television and stolen souls
Devil's got a spell on the world today
But don't nobody tell me that's just the way it is
I don't believe in this total eclipse of the Son
I don't receive this total eclipse of the Son
I don't believe in this total eclipse of the Son
I don't receive this total eclipse of the Son
O LAMENT
There's a gate with a lock and two high walls
All around me are all-seeing eyeballs
And there's a guard with a gun should I run
Should I run
Should I run?
There's a small patch of grass that I've handled
Through the gaps in the bars left a candle
And there's a lapse when the guards switch their watches
No one watches
No one watches
O lament, O lament
My Savior awaits me there
O lament, O lament
Why if I die should I care?
There's a day I remember so clearly
It's the day when the Spirit moved near me
And there's unfinished work to attend to
To attend to: I intend to
There's a night that I chose for a reason
It's got to do with the moon and the season
But there's a guard with a gun should I run
Should I run
Should I run?
O lament...
There's a shot ringing out from the tower
Now I'm drawn to the ground by some power
And there's a light though it's long past the hour
O lament...

WEARY
Weary
I've been weary for the longest time
Weary
Living with a worried mind
Can You hear me?
I could really use a friend
Weary
And I'm knocking on Your door again
Oh, my burden I can't tow
Can I lay it down?
Will You help me let it go and put it in the ground?
Weary....
You melt my frozen heart
You fuel my flame
I need a brand new start
I'm calling out Your name
Weary...
SALVATION STATION - LYRICS
SALVATION STATION
There's a train leaving from Calvary and it's goin' to salvation station
There's a train leaving from Calvary and it's goin' to salvation station
I'm gonna jump that train I'm gonna jump that train
I'm gonna jump that train oh Lordy I

'Cuz where we goin' they don't take that kind
Can you hear that whistle blowin'
And can you see that black coal smoke?
Can you hear that ole whistle blowin'
Salvation station, that's where we goin'
WORKIN MAN
I am a working man I get things done
Work for the Holy Ghost work for the Son
I am a working man oh yes I am
I am a special agent of the Lamb
I'm gonna wear your covering I'm gonna wear your robe
I'm wear your righteous mane everywhere I go
You're gonna light my candle Son you're gonna make it shine
You're gonna lead me to the throne
Brother testify!
I was born in the city child I was born in the north
I was born in the autumn time Lord only knows what for
I was born when leaves turn red born when things are dying
But I was born with a big ole mouth
Brother testify!
GIMME
Gimme what I need to get me through one more day
I need to know you love me
Help me along and see me through
I need you oh I need you
Yes it's true
I really need you now gimme now
Gimme gimme some shine gimme gimme love
Gimme gimme favor with God above
Show me show me mercy gimme gimme Grace
You've got to let me know that you're in this place
EMPTY HEART
There's a hole in my heart that's shaped like you
And it's just big enough to let you through
My whole empty heart's just like a cup
Fill me up fill me up fill me up
Calm in my soul when you're with me
Peace in my heart that sets me free
You're the one that I call to fill me up
Fill me up fill me up fill me up
Now I know the reason why there was such a hole inside
'Cuz I needed you in my life in my life in my life
SWEET HOLY SPIRIT
Pride is weighing me down
It's choking my heart
I'm chained up and bound
If pride is my prison
Then Grace be my key
Sweet Holy Spirit
Come rescue me
Spirit Spirit I surrender
Spirit Spirit I submit to you now
Spirit Spirit I surrender
Spirit sweet Holy Spirit
You know for so long I was a drowning man
I was hopeless and lost at sea yes I was
But Lord you threw me a line
Brought me back to your shore
Now I can feel the light from your lighthouse
Shining down on me yes I can
Worry oh what can I say
I've worried so much
I forget how to pray
Well I'm down on my knees
And this is coming from my soul
Sweet Holy Spirit
Come make me whole
BABYLON IS GOING TO FALL
We build towers made of steel
But that won't connect Heaven and the ground
These days money not love
Is the thing that makes this world go round
We've got no more faith in our foundation
And this base ain't strong at all
This world is just an illusion
And one day soon
Babylon is gonna fall
Take a look around and see
Why aren't we people living in unity?
Self-serving humans we'll always be
Indulging our humanity
DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN
I've got no explanation for why I feel this way
I ain't seen sun for months and the skies are always grey
It's been that kind of winter you wanna leave the north behind
But I've never been so happy
I'm in a summer state of mind
On my darkest day your light shined right in
Now I'm miles away from where I've gone and been
What else can I say about the state I'm in?
People say I've changed since I came down
Down from the mountain
I see angels and devils surrounding us down here
We were born somewhere in between love and fear
Just like a compass needle we spin from north to south
We see and hear no evil 'till it's comin' from our mouth
My cup's been filled since I came down from the mountain
The wheat's been milled since I came down from the mountain
My slate's been cleaned since I came down from the mountain
And my soul's been redeemed since I came down from the mountain
BORDERLINE
Keep your soul in mind when you reach that borderline
There's a crossing that divides right from wrong
There's a line in the sand
Have you chosen where you stand?
You can linger but you can't linger long
When you're standin' at the borderline...
Better believe that there'll be snares
Better believe you'll see your share
Better believe temptation's gonna come around
You gonna stumble here and there
You gonna think that life's not fair
You gonna feel just like the world is tryin' to bring you down
There's a fork in the road
Do you know which way to go?
You can't always see what's comin' round the bend
You better watch for the signs if you're gonna walk that line
Or you just might have to turn around again
Turn around...
Standin' at the borderline
CITYBUS LOVESONG
Well I was waitin' on platform 9 'cuz a boy's gotta pay his dues
I was sittin' there killin' time
I was doodlin' on my shoes
And I was noodlin' on this song
I was hummin' it all along
When the bus finally came I put my book away and I didn't get back home 'till dawn
Where would I go without you?
Without you to guide my way?
Where would I be without you?
I'd be wandering day by day
So when the garbage truck woke me up I remembered this simple tune
I filled up my coffee cup and I greeted the afternoon
'Cuz everyday is a brand new start and the sun always warms my heart
When I got on the bus I wrote this one for us so we might never be apart
WAITIN' 'TILL THE RAPTURE COME Old man Jonah sittin' in his chair got no teeth and got no hair
Got no daughter and got no son he's just waitin' 'till the rapture come
Waitin' 'till the rapture come
He never did marry and he never went far never bought a house or a big ole car
But he ain't no beggar and he sure ain't dumb he's just waitin' 'till the rapture come
Waitin' 'till the rapture come
And when the rapture come the Lord's gonna call his name
(When the rapture come) Jonah's gonna put down his cane
(When the rapture come) Heaven's gonna take him away
But until that day...
Old man Jonah's got an old brass horn had it since the day that he was reborn
But he ain't gonna blow for just anyone he's gonna wait 'till the rapture come
Waitin' 'till the rapture come
Preacher come a-walkin' down that country mile said 'hey Jonah, know it's been a while'
Waitin' 'till the rapture come
Waitin' 'till the rapture come
But Jonah keep his eyes on the settin' sun he's just waitin' 'till the rapture come
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Do yes I do yes I pledge my love to you
I do yes I do I pledge my love to you
Don't break my heart
Please don't tell me things that I can't bear to hear
Don't let me down
Show me what I've got to do to draw you near
Don't pass me by
Please don't overlook the servant at your side
Don't slip away
If you leave my hand I'll be paralyzed
ROOTS REVOLUTION - LYRICS
EMPTY HEART
There's a hole in my heart that's shaped like you and it's just big enough to let you through / My whole empty heart's just like a cup / Fill me up, fill me up, fill me up /
Calm in my soul when you're with me / Peace in my heart that sets me free / You're the one that I call to fill me up / Fill me up, fill me up, fill me/
Now I know the reason why there was such a hole inside / 'Cause I needed you in my life, in my life, in my life
WEARY
Weary, I've been weary for the longest time / Weary, living with a worried mind / Can you hear me? / I could really use a friend / Weary, and I'm knocking on your door again /
Oh, my burden I can't tow / Can I lay it down? / Will you help me let it go and put it in the ground? / Weary....
You melt my frozen heart / You fuel my flame / I need a brand new start / I'm calling out your name / Weary...
BABYLON IS GONNA FALL
We build towers made of steel / That won't connect heaven and the ground / These days, money, not love, is the thing that makes this world go 'round /
No more faith in our foundation and this base ain't strong at all / This world is just an illusion and one day soon Babylon is gonna fall /
Take a look around and see / Why aren't we people living in unity? / Self-serving humans we'll always be, indulging our humanity
WE ARE FORGIVEN
You're one of those people who sided with evil and built yourself up by putting others down / You were discouraged, the day you found courage to mend your wicked ways and turn your life around / You said: “how can I be sure that I won't fall again from grace and why should I deserve to even be here in this place?” / In this life we're all living, we are forgiven, we are forgiven all /
The power and glory / I'll tell you a story / It starts way back in time with a girl that I once knew / She was unhappy, she left her daddy and she moved out on the streets and did just what she had to do / Then an angel came one night and brushed her cheek so soft / He gave her money but he begged her not to take it off / In this life we're all living, we are forgiven, we are forgiven all /
The rain falls on the wicked and the righteous and every day the sun wakes up to light us / And that's just the way it is
DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN
I've got no explanation for why I feel this way / I ain't seen sun for months and the skies are always grey / It's been that kind of winter, you want to leave the north behind / But I've never been so happy, I'm in a summer state of mind /
On my darkest day, your light shined right in / Now I'm miles away from where I've gone and been / What else can I say about the state I'm in? / People say I've changed since I came down, down from the mountain /
I see angels and devils surrounding us down here / We were born somewhere in between love and fear / Just like a compass needle, we spin from north to south / We see and hear no evil 'till it's coming from our mouth /
My cup's been filled since I came down from the mountain / And the wheat's been milled since I came down from the mountain / My slate's been cleaned since I came down from the mountain / My soul's been redeemed since I came down from the mountain
STANDING ON THE ROCK
My cup was empty, now it overflows / The sky was grey but now my garden grows / My soul's on fire and my heart's aflame / I've got more blessings than a man can claim /
Standing on the rock...
Life is getting better every day / Sweet compassion's coming over me / Gonna keep on walking in the safety zone / 'Till that old black carriage come and take me home /
Standing on the rock...
The flood did rise but my feet stayed dry / The sun stayed with me when the tide was high / Then I went to the river and washed my soul / I asked my forgiver to make me whole /
Standing on the rock...
BUTTERFLIES
You still give me butterflies when I see those big blue eyes / I can still remember how it feels to hold you tight / But I can remember too, all the things you put me through / All those times I wondered was I good enough for you? /
Now I know you found another guy / But we never got to say goodbye /
I don't wanna be a guilty memory / Just remember that you loved me / I don't wanna die before we say goodbye / Please don't be ashamed of you and I /
You still wanna run and hide if by chance our paths collide / I can't stand to see you wrestle with your foolish pride / Watching you rush out the door / Nothing's ever hurt me more / Why can't we just go back to the way it was before?
AND SO ON
Alone is just a state of mind / There's people all around / The whole of humankind / Everybody's got someone who loves them and someone that they love too / Even if it's just one person, one and one makes two /
If love is what'cha what'cha need, sow another seed / If love is what'cha what'cha need, sow another seed and so on...
Degrees, I heard this said before, that we're separated by six but I think it's only four /
Everybody's got someone who loves them...
You're chasing paper painted green / I'm chasing portraits of the queen / It's not the same as giving people what they need
WASH ME CLEAN
A mountain of regret / A valley miles away / A life lived in the clouds / A wasted yesterday / A hilltop made of blunders / A wish cast like a stone / A bark as loud as thunder / A dog without a bone /
Wash me clean, wash me clean / Wash away my wants and needs / Wash me clean, wash me clean / Won't you pour water on this seed? /
A shameful flood of tears on a salty whiskered cheek / A dusty photo album / A lonely mountain peak / A youth of wishful thinking / A childhood gone astray / A hilltop slowly sinking / A boy's hair turning grey /
Wash me clean...
SWEET SOUL MUSIC
I like sweet soul music in the afternoon when it's sunny out in June / Long tall Sally's gettin' down with us / Everybody clear some room / I like sweet soul music in the evening time / Is everyone feeling fine? / Can we give you something for your body and your mind? /
Sweet soul music / Straight from the soul /
I like sweet soul music 'cause it feels so good and that's just how it should / I like swingin' rhythm and the big bass drum / Everybody stomp the wood / I like sweet soul music 'cause it's all I've got and I don't have a dime / We can give you something for your body and your mind /
Sweet soul music / Straight from the soul
